I live in the neighborhood just around the corner from Food Front and have been a Co-op member since 2014. I am excited to serve on the co-op board and contribute my background in real estate and legal transactions. As a former Real Estate Portfolio Lease Administrator and Senior Real Estate Paralegal, I have extensive experience managing and overseeing complex property transactions and related real estate closings.
I am committed to ensuring the co-op approaches the building sale with transparency, careful financial oversight, and strong member communication. My goal is to help protect the co-op’s values while securing the best outcome for its future.

As a resident of the neighborhood since 2012, I am committed to finding a resolution for the state of the coop and what it may be in the future. As a radiologist with a strong foundation in medicine and leadership experience as the associate radiology residency program director at OHSU, I bring a unique perspective on public health, wellness, and organizational management. My commitment is to the health of our community and to the need of community building in our NW neighborhood. I stand for equity and access to healthy food for our neighbors; values that I believe our community also upholds.

Katharine has been a Food Front member and neighbor since her family's return to Portland in 2004, but remembers being part of the original purchasing coop when she lived in the neighborhood back in the early '70s. She joined the board in summer, 2025 to help the Coop come to an honorable closure, consistent with member wishes and the founding vision. Her background is in nonprofit and public sector leadership, and she has served on several national and local boards of directors.

My family is a long time neighbor and customer of Food Front - living just half a block away. It is my commitment to our special neighborhood that brought me to join the Board for this last phase of Food Front's life. It was important to me that the members were heard and had their say in the future of such an institution. While nothing will ever be Food Front again, I look forward to working with Kate and the Board to bring life back to the heart of our community and see the members' wishes are upheld.

Food Front's annual member meeting will be held in person on Saturday, December 6th, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Friendly House, 1737 NW 26th Avenue. Zoom access is planned for those needing to attend remotely.
We extend a special thank you to our friends at Friendly House for waiving the meeting room fee.
This meeting will include a brief update from the Board before Mark and Rachel New present their plans. Full details and an agenda will be shared closer to the date.
All meetings are open to co-op owners and space on the agenda is always reserved for questions or concerns from those in attendance.
For Online Meetings - If you'd like to attend, please RSVP to board@foodfront.coop. Those who have RSVP'ed will receive a link to our online meeting, as well as a password and board documents that will be reviewed during the meeting, just prior to the start of the meeting.
For In-Person Meetings - Please join us in real life!
The meeting starts promptly at 6:00pm. There is always an official agenda, and a large portion of the time is reserved for the Board's mandatory business. At some point during each meeting, there is time set aside for introductions, committee reports, and an opportunity for owner or staff comments. When the meeting is officially called to order, the Board follows Robert’s Rules of Order to conduct its business. The sequence of the agenda is subject to change based on the focus of the meeting, and occasionally special format meetings are held or outside facilitators are used. Generally, most of the time is reserved for updates from our General Manager and conversations about our finances and operations, followed by time reserved for board business. If there is sensitive or confidential information to address, the Board may conduct a private Executive Session.
